Why we started
We face "Plastic Crisis".
Around 22.7 billion PET bottle products are shipped every year in Japan, averaging out to around 180 bottles per person. Free-water-refilling stations might be one of the solutions to reduce plastic but publicly-owned water fountains are blocked during the pandemic of COVID-19 and some shops are not happy with customers who keep coming to refill water without buying anything.
BOTLTO offers a marketplace platform that includes two apps: a mobile order & pay app for customers to purchase unbottled drinks and an e-commerce app for shops to easily open their websites to sell beverages unbottled. The platform provides a new sales channel for shops to obtain additional revenue and a circular solution to prevent plastic wastes as the way for customers to bring their own bottles.
